Mrs. Ceola Davis Green was born on May 26, 1955, in Terrell, Texas to the parentage of the late Ms. Irstene Davis and Mr. Charles W. Surrell. She spent her formative school years in the historic corridors of Burnet High School in Terrell, Texas. She and her classmates were the pioneering group to integrate Terrell High School and who graduated in 1973. Ceola accepted Christ at a young age when she united with her family church Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Terrell, Tx. under the leadership of Rev. O Witherspoon. She held an active leadership role in the church.
She was the Sunday School Teacher for Class #3 for several years, served as the Sunday School Church Secretary and was a joyful singer in the Gospel Choir. She was a member of the Mt. Hebron Missionary Society. Her loving and faithful presence remained with the Mt. Hebron until she was called to her heavenly home. She also served as the Secretary of the Rural Federation of Choirs where she loved singing at their bi-monthly programs. She found joy in a diverse range of activities, such as reading, singing, enjoying calming music, and tackling word search puzzles. She also cherished playing spades with her partner, Vickie Patterson, mentoring her numerous younger cousins, and engaging
in meaningful conversations with friends and family. Moreover, she took delight in traveling and watching her beloved Western shows.
Ceola’s professional career commenced as a Psychic Aide at Timberlawn Psychiatric Center. In 1979, she was encouraged to change her career trajectory and joined
Honeywell Corporation as a lead assembly operator, a position she held for nearly three decades. During her tenure at Honeywell, she conducted maintenance and repairs
on semi-automated equipment and PLC-controlled assembly lines. Ultimately, Ceola opted to cease her daily commute to the DFW Metroplex and retired from Finisar Corporation in 2007.
On February 14, 1985, she married Danny L. Green in a cozy ceremony surrounded by her nearest and dearest family members, including her mother, Irstene, and her cherished aunts, Gusta Mae Frazier and Vera Haynes.
